[mod request]: juri area
« on: May 30, 2003, 06:17:08 PM »
hello,

i have some members on my site that i've chosen to be the juri. I'm organizing some contests and image awards and those members will elect the winners.

what i would like to have is a mod that would create new area (maybe a private folder) showing a template where all images (thumbs with all info and link) would be shown and in front of it would appear a text area and 3 check boxes, where juri members can write what they think of the image (text area) and what kind of award she would win (check boxes).

This would work as a mailform and the mail would be sent to admin mail, with info about: pictures id and link; juris text area and checkbox contents; and juri member id.
This info would be private and not shown in the rest of the site, so any of the other members wouldn't see this private info.

it would be nice to have an archive of all juris messages in this mod, but i think that this may be more complicated to solve.

anyway, is this mod possible?
thanks in advance

well this sounds like a voting and commentsystem  and that is already included in 4images.

hmmm yes we can say that
but i would like to have this system in two different ways. the first is the normal system included in 4images, and the second would be a new system, working as a mailform to administrator mail, with some new fields.
this new system would be included in a new folder that i would protect, so only members with permission would be allowed to comment and vote.

You dont need any new fields, all u need is make the category voting and post comments as private, then add permission for your "juri" members to vote and post comments...isnt it the same as u asked for? ;)

i guess i didn't explain myself...

what i want is something like this (showing all images on my 4images gallery):

when press the submit button it would appear a page saying "avaliation sent" or something like that.

this comment system would be sent to administrator email
and the mail would have this info:

- member #id of the commenter
- image #id
- comment and checkbox text
- comment date

i don't need to put this as a private comment system. i just need to put this comment system in a protected folder on my server.
see what i mean?

hope so
thanks

if this not possible i think a easier way to do something similar is:

show a page similar to search.php?search_keywords=*** (where it shows all my gallery images) and at the bottle of the page it would have a mailform that the juri could write the image id and the "category" of award that he wants to give, and this would be sent to admin mail.

info received in mail would be the same or almost the same that i asked before.

i think this sould be easier cause it only needs one mailform, and not a mailform for each of the images.

thanks

if i creat user groups and put those "juri members" in a group, is there any possibility to create comment form to that user group? and this would be that mailform that im always asking :p

yeah... im annoying
thanks  :D

yes, just set your categories post/read comments to private, then edit your group and give that group permission to post/read comments.

but v@no... you're not understanding :)
this is not a category, this is for all images. an extra field to that user group in all images.
