Error Creating Thumbnail

Error creating thumbnail!

i get this error in auto thumbnailer. tried to change picture's CHMOD, but it stayed 666. i believe, got my GD path right.

What the heck is wrong?

ay! worked.

before, i had CHMOD-d everything as it said in DOC. i had CHMOD-d everything as it said in DOC and everything underneath it, just in case, as you said. then it worked.

i think, 4images got some bugs with creating directories and CHMOD-ing it.

no, it's depence how the server configured.

then it'd be really nice if the team had noted it on the DOC file.

not sure what they should note there, because if u do exacltly as in installation guide, u shouldnt have this problem.
P.S. u must do CHMOD dirs before u upload files in there (I belive so, not much experience with *NIX servers though)

did we mess up here? you said it's server specific. now you say follow the DOC. i mean What?!

i don't no if anyone reported this problem. but i'd be very surprised if none did.

thing is, I did ALL it said in installation.txt, esp. the chmod-ing file part. for example, says chmod 777 /data. chmod 777 /data/media etc. BUT, didn't said chmod /data/media/1 and to chmod 777 every subfolder under /data. if you didn't do it, it gives some error. thas the problem.

that's what I ment by "server specific".
"Most" of the people dont need do CHMOD manualy for each folder in /data/media/ because its automaticaly CHMOD each folder inside it with same CHMOD settings (sub-folders get CHMOD from parent folders).
as I mentioned before, I dont have much experience with *NIX systems, so, I might be wrong here, but I'm pretty much sure that I'm right...

aight man. just keep your DOC's and support up. though without some needed features, 4images is not bad at all. but there's gotta be no trouble installing it ANYWHERE.

unfortunetly that's impossible...but for MANY cases, read FAQ and search the forum, u might find the sollution
