upload problem

hello, all, this is a great program, i can upload using URL's but when i try direct upload it gives me this warning ...

Warning: Unable to create './data/media/1/140x140.gif': No such file or directory in /home/roanokeb/public_html/phppictures/includes/upload.php on line 114

Warning: Unable to move '/tmp/phpq2fJfG' to './data/media/1/140x140.gif' in /home/roanokeb/public_html/phppictures/includes/upload.php on line 114

what am I doing wrong? also what files need to be chmod'd and to what # ???
