FTP thumbnail problem
« on: November 23, 2002, 08:33:13 PM »
I have pre-existing thumbnails and over 1000 images...
these thumbnails are special (not just "auto" thumbs)

when I tried to just upload the thumbnails via FTP into the /data/thumbnails/ folders (finding the right category folder) it screwed up the corresponding JPG image in the /media/ folder.

also, the "find new images" feature apparently doesn't find thumbnails :(

help??

Some things to try

The image and thumbnail file names must be the same for "Check New Images" to pick them up.  Also the thumbnails and images must be in the same category number folder.
Code: [Select]
data/media/2/mypic.jpg
data/thumbnails/2/mypic.jpg

I don't understand what you mean by "it screwed up the corresponding JPG image in the /media/ folder".

Screwed up how?  Deleted it?  Renamed it?  What?

maybe that was just a fluke.... but i'm guessing my problem is that my thumbnails are GIFs ?  :(
it works if i manually add them to the images (in Edit)

your thumbnails must be same extention as images if u want use 'find new images' otherwise u need correct for each image manualy.

P.S. u can use some program that can batch convert images to jpeg/gif extentions (ACDSee for ex.)
Your first three "must do" before you ask a question:
Please do not PM me asking for help unless you've been specifically asked to do so. Such PMs will be deleted without answer. (forum rule #6)
