Rename index.php to home.php
« on: October 07, 2009, 07:29:09 AM »
Hello,

Because I want to install another scripts who has also index.php, I need to rename the index.php of 4images to home.php or something else. How can I do that? Few years I used a mod of do that for the index.php of PHPbb. So I believe it is possible, but how.

I am sure that a lot of 4images users will appreciate your help and or tips.

Any reaction will be appreciated.
Many thanks in advance,

Cruxy

there are many places in 4images where index.php is hard coded, you'll need change all of them to make it work.
Your first three "must do" before you ask a question:
Please do not PM me asking for help unless you've been specifically asked to do so. Such PMs will be deleted without answer. (forum rule #6)

Thanks V@no for your reply.

So you mean that it is better to find another solution instead of renaming index.php?

Use Notepad++
Open the 4images Folder
Push STRG+F
Serach index.php
Replace with home.php

whatever you do, make backup first ;)

If I asked you to PM me, I meant PM to my primary account, this account doesn't accept PMs.

Would it not be simpler to put 4images in a different directory? May also prevent grief later if/when you attempt to install another mod or update.

Thanks for all your tips. I decided to not change the index.php to home.php. I found another solution.
