HOW: one photo from each category in index?

hey gyus, please, is it possible to do this?

on index, instead of latest images, I need one image from each kategory(first or latest, doesnt matter)
maybe just change sql request for {new_images} will be enough, I dont know

thanks for quick reply but I dont want picture instead of category name
I just need different sql command for different pictures at index

... it is not a picture instead of category name ... !
... it is a additional picture ... !
... but of course you can also show a category image otherwise ...
... it should be a request in Mods & Plugins (Requests & Discussions) ...

... it is not a MOD, it is only a short hint as a very short tutorial ...
...
... you can make a copy of section "Show New Images" in your index.php ...
... so, now you can edit this section to your needs to show "One Image Of Each Category" ...
... and register the tag e.g. "image_of_each_cat" ...
... in home.html you can now use {image_of_each_cat} ...
...
... the rest is "fine tuning" ...
