DB Error: Couldn't open Template-Pack ./templates/ult
« on: October 04, 2002, 06:19:54 PM »
It seems that anytime I make changes to the administrations section the script has trouble writing to the Settings table.  It leaves off the first 4 characters of each record in the table.

I know that I can manually either restore the original table or manually modify the settings myself, but does anyone know a more elegant solution to the problem?

Here is a link to this topic discussed elsewhere in this forum:

It was happening every time I would change the configuration screen.

I have since tried switching to a different hosting company and everything now seems to be working fine.

On a side topic, do you have any suggestions for managing user accounts between the various sections of the website?  In other words, I use your Photo Gallery script, i'm using phpBB, and plan on using one or two others.  They all allow user registration, but does the user just have to register separately on each one?

Thanks for the help.

Tim.

We only offer a integration mod for using 4images and phpBB. See the Mod-Forum.

I have the exact same problem and I am not willing to change hosting to solve it. I'm using a CPanel host and I strongly suspect that CPanel could be the problem. Nothing seem to be standard on CPanel hosts.. :-(

php 4.2.3?
« Reply #6 on: November 01, 2002, 02:37:49 PM »
If your error message is:
Code: [Select]
DB Error: Couldn't open Template-Pack ./templates/ult
where the 1st 4 characters are getting cut off, then this is due to a bug in php 4.2.3  I doubt this has anything to do with CPanel.

Have you tried http://4homepages.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2296  :?:
