.GIF thumbnails wont show

I just got NetPBM installed, it's working fine, .GIF thumbnails can be created just fine. but the gallery won't show the thumbnails. they'll just show as Red X's. help?

Did you checked if the file exists on your server?

The thumbnails exist, only they have 0 bytes... empty files...

Maybe some misconfiguration in your NetPBM installation. Ask your host about it.

Actually I e-mailed the developer of NetPBM and he said that this isn't a NetPBM problem. He has dealt with this kind of situation many times and it's usually the gallery software's fault.

there doesn't seem to be a solution there. my NetPBM is installed correctly and I can make .jpg thumbnails, but not .gif thumbnails. they always come up 0 bytes.

Did you tried the precompiled packages from here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=7130&release_id=31626

Just upload the files to a directory on your server and set the path in the settings.

I've the same problem: No .gif-thumbnails with NetPBM.

I've found the problem but no solution

sh: /usr/bin/ppmtogif: No such file or directory

I use debian 3.0 and have installed NetPBM 9.20-8 via dselect => No mistakes by user possible

The file gittoppm exists :

I made a dirty Workaraound:
Just upload precompiled ppmtogif to NetPBM directory - not fine but working

Maybe this solves some other "NetPBM & .gif"-problems


By the way:
Does anybody knows if there are known problmes with several NetPBM-Versions? :
