url/4images/install wont continue help please.

Hello I am using 4images version 1.7.3 and mysql 5.01 php4 problem is when i am in the install screen i enter the information required and get a error message Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_connect() in /var/www/4images/includes/db_mysql.php on line 39.
I know php and mysql is working becuase i can access it through phpmyadmin in my browser. can anyone suggest what i am doing wrong?

look in phpinfo and make sure you have mysql extension installed and not mysqli If its mysqli then you can find a mod for that in the mods section of this forum.

ok not entirely sure but after rebooting few times i was able to get everything working seems the mysql wasnt loading any modules.
