control panel issue
« on: July 20, 2006, 03:30:33 AM »
A few months ago I had a person help me by installing the security updates and move database and software to a new server.

Ever since then log in to the control panel main page is slow up to 2-5 minutes before the main text show. The left hand column shows right away. Any other action/choice in the cpanel works fast and normal but as soon as you click control panel home it takes 2-5 minutes to get the info to show.

Is this normal with the security updates?

Is it possible this person put a backdoor into the code for him to get in or get info?
I looked at the script files but uhm... well...... most of it is greek and nothing is supsiscious looking.

There are no security updates in ACP (Admin Control Panel), so feel save remove everything from admin folder and upload fresh files.
As of slow down, its probably due to new server transfer, maybe new server is slower than was old one...
But, you can try speed it up with this modification:

Your first three "must do" before you ask a question:
Please do not PM me asking for help unless you've been specifically asked to do so. Such PMs will be deleted without answer. (forum rule #6)

Thanks

I'll try getting new admin files

I don't know php so the mods are a bit confusing to me.

It works but is slow but that is better than not working which could happen if I mess around with code lol.
