I have made gallery visible to registered users only.

I have this person(probably hacker) that logs on with

username* and has three different sessions logged on with three different ip's all looking at the same image.

This username is not a registered person. The asterix I think is the key.

Is this some sort of backdoor?

Can I stop this?

the asterix is for people who hide their email address

doesn't explain the three different ip addresses at the same time though
