PHP4 to PHP5 on a new server
« on: May 09, 2006, 07:05:31 AM »
Hello,
I've run into a snag with my photo gallery now that I have moved it to a new home. I had successfully moved it 2 times before without incident, but this one has a problem.

1) I am using 1.7 and have not upgraded to 1.8 yet
2) My new server has PHP5 on it
3) Most functions still work
4) the ones that don't are:
a- Photo Uploader
b- Search
c- Email
d- probably more I haven't recognized as not working yet
5) My Gallery URL is http://www.concretedisciples.com/skate_photos/

I recognize that it is likely just one or 2 settings I need to change in my files, but I cannot locate any instructions in this Bulletin Board on how to do so. If there is some instructions can you point me to them?

Thanks for the great software and support,
Jeff G.

Did you apply all the bug fixes? I doubt it...

All of them? No. :(

Would a fresh install of 1.7.2 take care of this (on my new server with PHP5)? I didn't make too many mods and updating them wont be too painful, I just want to be able to have the features in working condition again.

Thanks,
Jeff

Yes, v1.7.2 is fully compatible with PHP5
In fact, upgrading to v1.7.2 is very much recommended ;)
