How to change drop menu in CP?

When I edit image I can select any user via User drop menu but I need to change drop menu (or jump menu) to field tag, so that I can just write name of the user, not select. Look attachment.
Can somebody help me? Thanks!

it's not possible without changing some code in images.php,
cause in the dropdown field the userid values are submitted,
and if you enter just an username there is no userid given.
