Errors,need help!!

Okay, i installed the gallery on Wednesday, and everything was fine, I took off the 'allow user registration' thing by editing out this line
<a href="{url_register}">{lang_register}</a>

in the template/user)logininfo thing, however, today i went to see the gallery, after i uploaded some pictures and it was fine, then i went back and now i'm getting this error > Parse error: parse error, unexpected '{' in /home/gl/public_html/shoshana/gallery/lang/english/main.php on line 80

so i tried deleting the line in the english/main place and nothing, so then i just put everything back to the way it was, and i'm still getting the same error.

if i want to reinstall the whole thing, but not delete the categories and images, is there a way to save the categories nad images?

please help me !!!

If you dont worry about loosing any changes you made to the code, simply reupload all .php files and overwrite the old ones (make sure you upload them in text mode, not binary!)

it did it again,
i reinstalled last time and i haven't touched or logged into the gallery in forever
i just clicked the link to it and i got this again

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '{' in /home/gl.../public_html/shoshana/gallery/lang/english/main.php on line 80

what do i do? i haven't touched any folders or files.

what is on lines 78 - 82 in main.php? (note, I'm not asking about the copy of that file that is on your computer, but the actual file that is on the server right now)

if you want to use quotes ( " ) in lang files, you must escape them with a backslash ( \ ) like this: \"

u can check my file dates, i have not touched it.
i don't even know how to edit this stuff as we've learnt from other errors!!!

I found the same missing \ in my main.php at line 80, and didn't change anything before. Before it worked fine, then all of a suddin I got a parsing error. What also was the case is that my site was hacked, with extra .php files uploaded, comment of my images modified, and links introduced in my main page to other sites (this time it was a sex site, it happened before). Changes only in files in \4img and subdirectories, not in other files of my server. File and directory permissions where set according to the installation docs and the security fix had been applied. When I deleted all files and uploaded from a backup, the \ before the " quotes where there again. I have the suspicion that the 'sudden' missing of the backslash (\) has something to do with the hacking.

Hackers and viruses is very good possibility too. So, if something happens all of the sudden by itself, the best thing to do is contact the host administrator.

If this happend before, did u try to investigate how this happend? a hole on server software, or simply somebody guessed your user account and password?

No, but now I'm installing tracking sofware and have removed (World) write permissions for a lot pf other 4img files (666->644). Wonder if I can track this down.
