Is there any way to upload images faster/easier?

I have thousands of images to upload to my gallery, and adding them through the uploader(even 10 at a time, and I know you can change that to more than 10) takes a VERY long time. So, I was wondering if there was some easier way to add images, with the info still being adde dto the database.

The only way is to upload via FTP - then add to database per ACP
