Getting Buttons to Display in Profile

What is the trick to getting the Buttons (email, homepage,  and ICQ) to display in the profile instead of the values? I have been looking at member.php, and I am unable to easily see how this can be accomplished. What is the means of doing this? :

I think I see how... I followed the trail into member_profile.html. This is where I would have to make the changes.

Let me just say how well I think this system is written. I am very pleased with it, and I hope it has even greater success than it does. Hopefully, there will be additional documentation in the future.
