Installation
« on: May 28, 2006, 10:20:24 AM »
I am a bit confused on the installation.  I uploaded all my files to my server and I don't know what to do next.  The instructions said to point my browser to 'the location' but I'm not sure what they mean by that.  Any help 'for dummies' would be greatly appreciated.

in the address bar of your browser type address of your server with path to your 4images installation.
i.e. if you uploaded 4images into "gallery" folder located at the root of your web space on the server, then the address you should type is: http://example.com/gallery/

Hi,

I am having installation problems. The web server i am using has Windows 2k3, IIS6, My SQL 5 and PHP 5.1.4. I have uploaded the files in the necessary ASCII and Binary FTP modes into a folder called 4images at the root of my website. When i browse http://serverIP/4images i only get the listing of all the files, not the installation page. I have browsed the installation FAQ's and posts and have picked up a few tips but am now at a loss as to what else i should be doing. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou

mmm...is there a settings what kind of files IIS server should use as index files, like index.html, index.htm, etc? if so, make sure you have there index.php as well.

IIS does have an area for that and the index.php file was not specified. This didnt work but it dead lead me to discover that my PHP installation was not correct. I corrected the error and the installation started. Thanks!

I am however now getting the following error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in C:\4Images\4images\includes\db_mysql.php on line 39

Can you assist?

Thankyou
