Download URL in edit window

Hello,

I uploaded a image to my server and entered the download url for it (http://www.site.com/dir/dir/1/pic.jpg) . However when I click the download button it gives me a Page Not Found error. When I enter the url to the image into the browser window manually it works, so the image is there.  What am I doing wrong? I need to have three images on my server. Thumbnail, small version for the details page and then the original for download. I tried the plugin/mod thing here but it does not work. So I am doing this manually, but it does not work either.

Oh, and one more thing. Once I will link the download correctly will it show the size of the original image (download image) on the detail page or will it show the size for the small preview picture? Thanks Martin

its shows size of the image that is registered in the database, not the download image.
