Register new user DNS error on new 1.7.7 installation

New user trying to register returns this fault this happens after submitting the user details, the new user's name is submitted but it never emailed verification email just bomed out with this error,
not sure if installation of 4images or server problem. this is a new 1.7.7. installation.

this is the reason why email not beeing sent
= no mailserver on localhost

btw. DNS error i didn't received...

New server was not running mail, this I was not told, now sorted and running fine Thanks.
