HORRIFICLY SLOW uploading pictures thru control panel

Currently using 1.7.4 and I am really starting to get fed up and don't understand why this is happening. I LOVE the program but for it's one HUGE DOWNFALL; HORRIFICALLY SLOW at uploading images.

I had 4 (Four) 2-3 meg images to upload to the gallery thru the control panel and on my ADSL connection, it's been over 1 1/2 HOURS and it's still going! Still waiting for the "File upload in progress....

This window will close automatically once the upload is completed." to complete. HOW can we possibly speed this up and WHY does it have to be running like it's on a 14.4 baud modem??

Well that was one HELL of a waste of time!!!! The computer needed to reboot from a windows update and discovered it did not upload ANYTHING!! 2 HOURS and nothing happened!!

So if I upload 1 at a time it will take no more than 2-3 mins. But upload like 4 and it takes 2 HOURS!

please send me your url & admin access to your Admin CP.

and over email 4images DOT nicky.net send me the files which are you trying to upload 2 hours....

btw... you can upload pics via FTP to data/category_number and then check them with "Check Images" in your admin CP

due i think it's host related and not 4images issue...

DEFINATELY like the FTP tip.. But how would you specify who sent it? In the control panel you can specify filename, desc, who uploaded it..

of course users have to upload via members upload, they can't use your FTP.
