Is SMTP enabled in 4images settings? if so, make sure the host, user and password for SMTP server are correct.

If you don't use SMTP, then make sure your host supports sending mail via PHP (contact your host administrator if you are not sure).

I can't send email either SMTP or PHPmail() and can't send e-cards.
Is it possible that I don't have my 4images installation configured correctly?

I tried talking to my hoster but they basically are referring me back to you.
Please read attached message interchange I  recently had with my web hosting company.

Any suggestions are most appreciated.

Best regards
Darrell

Hello and welcome to 4images forum.

4images uses BCC fields only when admin sends out emails from ACP (Admin Control Panel), otherwise it uses "TO" field. e-cards also uses "TO" field.

Reading your conversation, I get quiet annoyed by how easy they point fingers on others and shield themselves from any responsibilities: (my comments in italic)

Darrell,
...
I have verified that an e-mail is not
sent out at all, pointing towards an issue with the script. really? The PHP
mail() function should be enabled on the server should be - yes, but is it? did you confirm it's enabled?. If you need something
specific enabled/disabled, please let us know, but you will need to
speak with the authors of 4images for further assistance.
so, if mail feature not properly setup on the server it's still script's problem?

That's a standard EHLO SMTP banner, there's nothing invalid about it.
How exactly that answers/solves the problem?

So, what can you do at this point? - get as much information about requirements on the server for a PHP script be able send out emails.
It's clearly the server has many filters preventing abusing it with sending out spam that is blocking legit script from using the service.

Good luck.

Any chance that I might get SMTP to work with this hoster (Simply Hosting)?

That's something you're going to need figure out with your hoster. Without knowing what are the restrictions and rules set by administrators, nothing we can help you with...

If I asked you to PM me, I meant PM to my primary account, this account doesn't accept PMs.
