Req: Show new images in Home (only from specific categories)

I've create some specific categories , and i would like know how can make {new_images} in home, show show new images from that specific categories !?

i.e : categories - 1,2,3,5,6,8  and i want only show new images in home from cat. 5,8 , how can i do it or modify the code on index.php ?
