install question

do I have to install the script in a folder called 4images of the root of public_html? this script will be my primary website and I was wondering if I can install it directly on the root of public_html directory?

Thank you. Can I ask you one other quick question please. The script was not able to write to config.new.php so I had to download the file and upload the config.php file. I see two files config.php and config.new.php. Do I leave both of these? Should I delete them? Thanks otherwise everything seems great.....
