Hey guys!

I have backed up, and modified the needed files from the 1.7.7 upgrade, but throwing some errors. First, I used the tutorial below to modify the files listed, and then also just uploaded the new "template/default" folder (since nothing in that original folder had been modified by mods. I used the topic below...
http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=24794.0

When viewing the home page, I get just this...
Code: [Select]
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/xxxxx/public_html/savegasforums/000TPX/includes/sessions.php on line 349
But when I tried to login under any name, I got this cover the full page...
Code: [Select]
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/sayyo1/public_html/savegasforums/000TPX/includes/sessions.php on line 349

(Those above are from my test site, and not the one in my sig. The test site is www.savegasforums.com/000TPX/ . I may be changing it up within the next couple days, or restoring it back to its original state, so don't go by how it looks at the present time as changes may be reversed.)

The questions...

1.) I am upgrading from a heavily modified 1.7.6 version of the software, but ran into no problems when adding the changes within that 1.7.7 topic. However, I came to a stop at the "install.php" file. After I installed my version, I deleted the file. I didn't know if the changes to the new 1.7.7 version are dependent or not on that "install.php" file. Do I need it, or need to implicate it?

2.) With the newly created version of 1.7.7, are there any additions or changes to the database? Do I need to add or modify the DB tables?

3.) Has anyone yet found conflicting MOD's with the 1.7.7 version? The following MODs I have added to my site are below...

- Google Friendly Links
- Remove Right Click
- ReCaptcha Art
- Report a Picture
- Contact Form
- Avatars
- Added Google Adsense ads (didn't use any mod, just added them)

Thanks in advance!

I've been having frequent problems since I've moved over to my new VPS server. Possibly from one of my mods, one or more of the scripts have become unstable causing Apache to crash, and makes my site timeout for the users. Sometimes, I won't have issues for a couple days, but then I'll have days where I need to restart that part of the server more times than I can count. It is really annoying.

Now, I still am running 1.7.6, and haven't added any of the bug fixes. I am planning to upgrade to 1.7.7 (probably manually to protect current mods), and hoping I can finally solve this problem with the unstable scripts. Below, is the list of mods I have added to my current script if possibly one of them is known to cause this problem. Has anyone had this problem as well?

- Google Friendly Links
- Remove Right Click
- ReCaptcha Art
- Report a Picture
- Contact Form
- Avatars
- Added Google Adsense ads (didn't use any mod, just added them)

Thanks for your help, guys!

Hey guys!

Yeah, I feel stupid for asking this one again. I believe I asked this before, and one of you guys helped me do this. For the life of me, I cannot find the thread or post I made about this....

Basically, I noticed that pictures from the hidden categories are still showing up as random images. Where can I find the block of code where I can deny viewing of the hidden categories in the Random Images by guests?

Thanks again!

Hi!

I just moved over an entire 4images site over to a new server, and forgot about the CHMOD permissions. I'm guessing they don't stay the same permission within the file when downloading, and uploading the files. Can anyone help me and post up the full list of changes I need to do and double check?

Thanks in advance!

Hey guys!

This is probably one of many questions I'll be asking during the time of moving my site to a VPS on another host. I'm currently creating an entirely new page setup including a fresh database. However, I would like to move the current users from my old database over to my new. I just am wanting the users ported over, and not the entire database, since I'm starting everything from scratch.

Can someone point me in the right direction on how I specifically move over just the users? Thanks in advance! 8)

Hey guys,

I'm currently redoing my entire site, and moving it to a VPS. I remember a feature I removed from viewers a while back which was the posting images from another site/URL under the "Upload" page. Now looking back at it, I want to allow that.

However, I notice that it doesn't actually upload the image, but just hotlinks it. That isn't too bad, but the problem lies with the fact I can't have the image thumbnail show up. Is there any MODs available that would allow users to upload from a URL thus then allowing it to have a thumbnail created for it?

Thanks in advance!

My hosting company (Lunarpages) has disabled the Captcha script from my 4images site due to it overloading the server's cache. So, the script is currently disabled as of right now. I've been looking around on the site trying to figure out how to completely remove captcha from my site.

I would like to remove the captcha from all pages including the Registration and Comment page. Also, are there any MODs out there that allow a kind of "are you human?" that I can use instead of Captcha?

Thanks guys. Any help would be appreciated!

I submitted my .xml page to Google Webmasters, and allowed Google to spider my site. However, Google does it often and many times at once. It seems to throw me off when it comes to members and guests viewing my site. Look at the picture below...

What isn't blocked out is GOOGLE! I had to step back and look at it with a crazy look on my face. I have no problem with Google robots indexing my pages... that is a GOOD THING!!! But it is a little bit of a pain when trying to make sense of actual members/guest from robots.

I certainly do NOT want to block Google from using their spiders on my page, but if there is a way to hide "66.249.71.***" from my cPanel, that would be great! I don't know if this is possible, but would be very beneficial.

Thanks in advance!

I've noticed those cool looking images many seem to have within their signatures that shows the amount of images, users online, etc. within many of the veterans on this site. I know I saw them looking cool in Nicky's signature, and also buddukes.

Honestly, if this is a modification that is readily available, I wouldn't know what to call it or search for it. Can you guys guide to how you make one of these cool looking sigs? I actually want to add my own to the top portion of my forum so those who hit my forum actually know there is a whole lot more to the site than just the forum.

Thanks in advance!

Chit Chat / Topic Info from my Forum on my 4images Home Page...
« on: January 21, 2009, 05:58:34 AM »
Hi,

I couldn't think of a good title, but here is what I'm trying to do. I successfully integrated the SMF Forum into 4images. In order to get my members to migrate over to the forum and spend more time on the site, I'm trying to add the "Newest Posts" in the place of "New Images" on my main page. I'm sure I can figure some of it out, but I'm running into a problem.

On the SMF side, this is their manual on how to do this, but I can't figure out where to properly add the code below.

The code:
Code: [Select]
<?php require("/path/to/forum/SSI.php"); ?>
http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=400.msg529#msg529

I tried putting it at the top of the "header.html", but threw these error codes below. Maybe a stupid question, but does this code belong in template.php. If so, where?

Code: [Select]
Warning: require() [function.require]: URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in /home/xxxxx/public_html/taintedpix/includes/template.php(101) : eval()'d code on line 1

Warning: require(http://taintedpix.com/forum/SSI.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in /home/xxxx/public_html/taintedpix/includes/template.php(101) : eval()'d code on line 1

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'http://taintedpix.com/forum/SSI.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php') in /home/xxxxx/public_html/taintedpix/includes/template.php(101) : eval()'d code on line 1

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance, guys!

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Search is throwing up many error codes!
« on: January 19, 2009, 08:18:29 AM »
I'm not sure which of the MODs I installed may have caused this, but I'm starting to look towards the SMF forum integration MOD. I have also had a DB error, but I can tell that is regarding SMF forums, and I will probably have to ask the techs on their support forum for help.

Here is my site (warning: some adult content)... http://taintedpix.com

I kind of figure that there are many problems with my function.php file I need to address. Hopefully, someone on here can give me a helping hand. When I try to use the search, I get all of these errors...  8O

Hi everyone,

I have a couple categories that can be viewed by members only, but want it so that when non-registered viewers try to view it they get some kind of message saying they can't view the images without registering.

I know that under Category modification area in Admin Panel, I can make the categories able to be viewed, but the problem is that they can stll click on them and view thumbnails... but can't click on the thumbnails in order to view them.

How can I make a message pop-up or maybe a redirect when a "Guest" tries to click on a Category only for members to say something like, "You must be a registered member to view these images'????

Thanks in advance!

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Have a Quick Image View Question...
« on: January 08, 2009, 05:28:49 AM »
Hey everyone,

I actually have two questions, and both are about the the page where you view the image.

I was wondering how I could make it so when someone is viewing an image, they could just click the image to move the page over to the next image. The second question is how do I modify or remove some of the fields under the image on the same page like completely remove the "Exif" information and probably size down the wide information table.

I figure that these two things probably can be done in the same file within my template, I just don't know where to look. If you can point me to the proper code lines, I could probably figure it out from there.

Thanks in advance!

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Image Title Shown in Title Bar?
« on: January 02, 2009, 08:54:29 AM »
I've noticed something that I would like to revise. I'm trying to figure out how to add the image title name to the title bar. Basically, when someone looks at a page containing the picture, I want the picture title to be shown after my sites name. I hope I'm making sense...

Right now the title bar for every page is just my site's name, but I want it like it is below for the image pages...

NOW: My Site Name

AFTER: My Site Name - The Picture Title

I figure this would be a whole lot more appealing when indexed in a search engine.

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Remove Field Under "Upload Image" Page
« on: December 30, 2008, 10:40:47 AM »
I've been lurking around this forum for the past week, and it has helped out greatly. Now I have a question I couldn't find the answer to. I'm wondering what directory and file I need to remove certain fields from when a member uploads a picture. Since I have auto thumbnail resizing using GD, there is no reason why members should have this option. I want to remove it.

Also, I would love to find out how to change the order of fields. I find the default as being a little too complex for some of my user base (some may be quite internet illiterate).

I'm looking to have an Upload Image page consisting of the following order...

- Category
- Image Title
- Description
- Keywords (smaller of an input box)
- Upload... browse and website link
- Verification code
- Submit/Reset

I think that setup would be most beneficial given it also would be more compact making it so members don't need to scroll down to proceed.

Thanks in advance!!!
