Thanks budduke, now I did so many tests that lightbox doesn't work on windows too ).
I'll go back to previous version to let it work on windows in the meantime.

same with v1.7.6. I still getting the message that file can be damaged but I can open it with stuffit expander

Test done with the original v1.7.
Same error with zip/lightbox download (see attached file that can be opened altough mac says that file is corrupted).
The standard download works fine.
I cannot test with windows since I have installed the gallery locally on a mac.

In ten minutes I should be able to let you know about the v1.7.6. Just the time to install it

now commenting the 2 lines again the standard download works again, and I get the attached file from the lightbox.
the download.php attached is the last one I'm using.

Here you are the zip files.
I'm sure you can open them with windows since both files are fine.
The problem is that I can't open them with the mac default decompression utility that works for all zip files.
Also remember that this works for the lightbox (using zip download) but not for the single images using the standard download.

I made some testing... now that lightbox works the standard download on a single image doesn't (I get corrupted file again).

uncommenting these 2 lines I get again a corrupted file (using mac) but with some data in it that I can extract only using stuffit expander.
Using windows seems that all is working perfectly now. I wish I could use both OS, but one OS that works is better than nothing

actually I didn't, a few days ago while I was trying to solve this issue and onther problem with big file (about 20mb) I found a post on your forum with this download.php version, I only applied my multisizes download mod. Anyway I have my old version with the lines uncommented but it still not working

I have no idea why you have commented out two times:

#$file['file_size'] = strlen($file['file_data']);remove the "#"

and again, if you get a corrupted .zip, open it in a text editor, make sure no messages on top of it.
