Hm, sorry thats not what I'm searching for.
You understand what I mean? I don't think so.

If you klick on a thumbnail in the category you'll get tho the detail view.
In this view the original uploaded image will shown. In the original dimension an file size.
The most users just want to view a bigger image like in the category, thats why they visit the details. At least they don't want to download that image. But they wasted the traffic, because the full image was send to the user.
Now imagine that was a 2MB high resolution picture of 2000x1600. And now I have houndrets of them and thousands of users browsing that database per day. Now, if 2000 want a bigger view and klick on the detail i get a traffic of 4.4 gigabyte per day. And just 200 users want to download that images.
So 1800 users wasted a traffic of 3.6 gigabytes, because they get the full image send. And that per day!!!!

And now my wish to create a second thumbnail for the detail view.
That will reduce
A) The image resolution from (example) 2000x1600 to 700x1060. That would be better viewable and you mustn't longer scroll around.
B) The image size from 2MB to (example) 200kb. A Traffic safing of 1800KB.
Traffic reduce to 90%!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats I'm searching for. I'm wasting terrabytes!
You understand now?

Current I'm using the resize script, that reduce the dimension by viewing. But that won't reduce the image size!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because they're not a created thumbnail.
Original file size = resized displayed file size

i don't need the cathegory thumbnail because it is to small.
I need a second thumbnail for detail view.
Original the full dimension image was displayed in the detail view. I used the resize Addon here:
http://www.4homepages.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3218
It works. 700 pixel width is mutch better to view than 2000 pixel.

But the problem is that the filesize is the same.
If the 2MB 2000 pixel image is resized to 700 pixel, it has still 2MB.

A resized thumbnail with 700 pixel width and 300kb would be mutch better for my bandwith.

You understand me?

Thats possible, yes. But that would be the same small images like in the cathegory view, right?
I like ...
Cathegory view thumbnail 150 x * (*~50kb)
Detail view thumbnail 700 x * (~300kb) ; 700px for better view
Downloadable original  for example 2600 x 1900 (~2.2MB)

That could save 1.9MB per view!

Hello,
my database have lots of images and and gigabytes traffic per day.
Because i only resize the images in detailview. That mean no traffic saving, because the full image size (>1MB) will be send.
Is there a plugin that creates a second thumbnail fo detail view?
That would save lots of bandwith. Thanks for your reply.

Genius, whoho!
Still one Question: Why is before the first *dot* this: "[1]" (without "")?

7
Best thanks.
One question, can it be realised like "name_(domain.com).jpg"?
