My 4images gallery, only recognizes new images when they're placed in the main media folder (not when they're in the sub folders eg... 1, 2, 3)  Why is this?

Hey I just need help, from start to beginnging, in installing the gallery!
Someone help me!  I have done the same sort of thing installing a forum, but I can't figure this out!
