Vielen Dank, aber sorry ich befürchte deine Mail ist in meinem Mailwasher unter die Räder gekommen. Ich hatte die letzten Tage so viel Spam das ich nicht mehr alles so genau kontrolliert habe. Kannst du mir die Mail noch mal schicken? Bitte bitte!

I just tried to install Mobile Server (1.7.6) but get an error message: "w:\home\admin\WWW\redirect.html couldn't be found".  Mobile Server tries to install Drive "W", but fails. In Windows Explorer the "W" drive is shown, but it's empty and it is signed with a red questionmark and in the Disk Management Drive "W" doesn't appear at all, so it seems drive "W" can't be mounted.

I use Win XP Prof. SP3. Win XP firewall is deactivated. I also deactivated Kaspersky but without any success. I also tried to change the letters of the drive in the start.bat and the stop.bat, but it's the same effect. I guess any f***ing tool or Win XP update blocks the mounting of another drive? Got anybody an idea?

Ich versuche gerade 4images mobile Server (1.7.6) zu installieren und bekomme dabei als erstes die Fehlermeldung "w:\home\admin\WWW\redirect.html konnte nicht gefunden werden" Es wird versucht das Laufwerk "W" einzurichten, im Windows Explorer erscheint jedoch nur ein "W:\" mit einem dicken roten Fragezeichen, in der Datenträgerverwaltung taucht es gar nicht auf. Es scheint also, als könne Laufwerk "W" nicht gemountet werden. Ich benutze Win XP Prof SP3. Die Win XP Firewall ist deaktiviert, Kaspersky habe ich testweise auch mal deaktiviert, aber ohne Erfolg.

danke für die antwort. ja und für soche dinge hätte ich gerne einen beginners guide 

i.A. habe ich das problem zwei templates in den templates ordner kopiert zu haben. das eine habe ich (selbsterklärend...) mit drei klicks installiert. dann wollte ich auf das zweite switchen (wird im administrationsbereich auch brav angezeigt) ich speichere ab und  - es passiert nichts, das erst template bleibt egal was ich mache. ich kann jetzt natürlich ALLES komplett deinstallieren und wieder von vorne anfangen, aber ich würde gerne verstehen warum und da dachte ich das es vielleicht an einer rechtevergabe scheitern könnte.

ja ich bin der mit dem XAMPP. habe ich aber komplett deinstalliert. jetzt läuft 4images with Mobile Server. kein XAMPP und ich habe auch keine sonstigen server und auf keinen FTP server laufen. Und du hast recht, weitgehendst ist das ding selbsterklärend. wenn es dann an einigen stellen mal nicht ist stehe ich dann aber dumm davor.

ich würde gerne einige templates ausprobieren und manchmal muss man anscheinend die rechte anpassen. und schon da scheitere ich. normalerweise super einfach, aber ich weiss nicht einmal wie ich mich da so einlogge das das möglich ist. cuteftp logged sich ein, listet die dateien, wenn ich rechtsklicke auf eine datei werden keine rechte angezeigt, die verbindung wird dann geschlossen und error 404 angezeigt...

I'm an advanced user, but no Webdeveloper. I just installed 4images with Mobile Server and I'm struggeling with simple problems. Right now I'm despareted  just to log in with Cute FTP to check/modify CHMOD rights, but if I log in with localhost, user:admin, pass:admin I don't get access. Why not? How do I change the password? and so on...

is there something like a beginners guide? A manual? Is there somewhere the structure of 4images explained? A how to?

in english or german

Thank you so much!!! I was nearly desparated and I still don't know why it doesn't worked with XAMPP. Maybe there is one parameter in one of hundrets of files which must be changed - I don't know and I don't care anymore.

now I first tried to import the tables of the database manually in PHPMYadmin by 4images\data\database\default\mysql_default.sql
all tables are created successfully
bernjul got all rights for this database

same result: 'An unexpected error occured. Please try again later.'

Thanx for your quick answer.

I created an empty database "pictures_gallery" without any tables and checked if user 'bernjul' got the rights for this database.

And I used 'localhost' instead of 127.0.0.1 within the form.

Same result.

I tried to install 4images and I simply get this error message above. I installed XAMPP win32-1.6.4 containing:
# Apache HTTPD 2.2.6 + Openssl 0.9.8e
# MySQL 5.0.45
# PHP 5.2.4
# PHP 4.4.7
# phpMyAdmin 2.11.1

I switched to PHP 4.4.7

safe_mode = Off in php4.ini is correct

I copied the 4images folder into htdocs of XAMPP and I get the installation site in firefox correctly under 127.0.0.1/4images/install.php

I filled out the form with the following parameter:

Database server hostname: 127.0.0.1    (I also tested 127.0.0.1/4images)
Database name: pictures_gallery        (I understand the system in this way, that this database will be created by the 4images installation, or must I creat it myself in phpMyadmin ??!!)
Database username: bernjul     (I created this user in PHPMyadmin with ALL PRIVILEGES)
Database password: I left it empty, I didn't choosed one, bernjul got no password
Prefix for tables in database: 4images_
Admin username: root
Admin password: and YES I typed in the password...

I'm searching for hours now - I only get the  message 'An unexpected error occured. Please try again later.'

What's wrong?
