But, one hour before, the website was good, everything corrected. Use of the template dldark ( with a little modification in appearance of the mantra template 4images_dark) did nothing more, but, yet, I looked for my site and the error was this time:
Template Error: Couldn't open Template ./templates/ghmod_dark/category_dropdown_form.html

There was no action from in any way to ask do use the template "ghmod_dark", how can this happen??

I am ....!!! ..and I don't know what I could say for this! And less , what is the meaning of "update your code ...?"

I forgot something:

After error and the procedure to became new acces, first I found the right start page but with the false categeries (the categories of the old template) and I have one time ago to restore the database and only then everything is as before.

Because I did some template modifications on the mantra dark template, may be that there is some relation there????

Hello, this is a strange report:

when I became for the first time this error, I thought that I have made a manipulation/setting error in the admin panel for an old template. The fact was: No possibility to have acces to the site / to the admin panel without a long procedure of corrections.

(the corrections to became acces to my website were:
locally I had to make a restore of the database with the setting of the old template. Then to upload  the old template and than I had acces. After a restore of the database with the setting of the old template I could chance the template and everything was alright.)

Some days later, the same error occured.
But this time in another homepage where I have the same configuration of templates. Did I made an error with the file transfer program and uploaded the wrong template or part of it to the wrong homepage, because I have two homepages?! A cross-over-error? I corrected everything in the same way as before, all was fine in my two homepages.

But later - I did not made setting changements or other - the same kind of problem occurred, there was the wrong template active. I corrected it und to be sure, deleted every old template stored in the template folder to be very shure, that I could not chose in the setting by error this old template.

Today, I mad a little change in the header site of the template in my homepage www.hoffmann-photo.eu and uploaded this one header page. Before, the homepage worked fine. Veryfing the side after this, I had on more time this template error. The old template is missing, for sure I did not choose it in the setting panel, because it cannot appear there.
(of course I had to make the same manipluations as before to come back to the old template und to correct it over a database restore with the old template setting.)

Now, I wonder what could be the reason and how can I avoid this ?

Please say me how I can in the categories tab become the text of the category aligned to the left of the category symbols and not centered as it is now, can you tell me the page and the lign where to do? Thank you again.

yes, matra, here is an image where you see the two textfields I would like to insert, may be as two fields on the top and bottom of the "spacer-symbol" or as one textfield without the exisisting symbol.

The red vertical lign is to see that there are here differences in the alignement of the symbols and of the category names.

And the modifaction in the code (only elimination) I did in the site "home".

and here you can see also that the category names and symbols in the standard are not on the same vertical ligne, can I do something to make it "right".

Also I ask me if I would stay with the images slider. Another solution could be to  lay under the site content/template presentation -  a little bit how a screensaver in XP - a big backgrund image instead of the black background, is that a "template question" or should I eventually look for the anser in the forum search first?

Many thanks in advance to look at the initial pointand may be the other too??

Hello,

I have installed "check all images" and it works fine, also for transfer of iptc into image-description and keywords is perfect.

How can I now obtain the same result when a user make a direct upload?

Can anyone explain to me how to do?  I have searched all - and there is a lot - of iptc in connection with user upload  and I did not find anything.
It seems strange, have I missed some topic? Sorry for this case and thank you for helping me.

hello, Mantra!....you wrote "you welcome" means that the question before depends only  on the icon size it seems or can I somewhere change something as "center" to "left"?

By trying to do some modifaction on 4images_dark startpage --- in fact I try to elimenate the left colomn with login and so on and to use this space for one or two bloc of text instead --  but I come not over with my method of try and error.

Please can you show me how to create a box on this left side, with the same background.

The space (menuhead) in the middle of the left side may stay there to separat two bloc of text.

Hello Mantra!
Some time ago you advised me for the use of category-pictures, it works nice.

But there is a small thing i w'd like to resolve, when I give a long category text, which means it will be edited in 2 lignes, the second line comes not at the same place, but one caractere before, as this:

             Roma 2007

these kind of different beginning can may be depending of the symbol I use, but for the last 2 ex. these are the standard symbols of the template.


But on the other side, I mean on the second colomn of categories, everything is very well, but there only one-line -titels.

ok, jetzt weiss ich wann diese Art von "unexpected error" auftaucht.

Ist eine Datenbank bereits angelegt gewesen und enthält bereits die Tabellenstruktur von 4images, und wird dann das script gelöscht und neuinstalliert, so erwartet 4images eine jungfräuliche Datenbank, ansonsten gibt es Fehler.

Wäre natürlich schön wenn es die Möglichkeit einer Fehlermeldung gäbe, die sagt "Kann Struktur nicht importieren weil bereits eine... vorhanden", denn die Meldungen sind sehr missverständlich, denn in einem reply oben sagte jemand schon, es sähe so aus als wäre die Datenbank gar nicht angelegt, dabei war das Gegenteil der Fall.
Vermutlich aber gar kein Thema von 4images, sondern von mySQL.

When I downloaded today your template "wallpaper", the rar software tool says that it was "corrupted", I tried many times, always with the same result.
May be that there is something to correct??

Hello, Mantra!

Wonderful design, but I don't understand how it works with category images? As I installed the template on localhost, the category symbol was marked by a red x. I Have about 15 categories and I do not know how to tell the template where to become the iamge, or is that working automatically.
Is there something I have to do when I install the template?
Someone here had the same problem but wrote something about gif-images to install ??? Please help me.

ENTWARNUNG! Auf neuer, anderer domain www.online-photogalerie.eu von t-online sofortiger Installationserfolg ohne jede Fehlermeldung!

Warum ich es nach anfänglichen falschen Schritten mit verpäteter Installation der Datenbank, neuem script-upload ....u.s.w. dann nicht mehr hingekriegt habe wird wohl rätselhaft bleiben.

Muss da etwas nachtragen, nachdem ich nochmal Honda2000 oben gelesen habe:

Bevor der Installationsverlauf so ablief wie oben geschildert hatte ich eine Lösung ohne DB installiert, und in der Tat vergessen die Datenbank einzurichten, jetzt berichte ich die fehlenden Schritte ganz zu Anfang:

1. Übertragen der alten Lösung in einen Ordner "oldpage"
2. upload der lokalen 4image-Installation stattdessen
3. erste Fehlermeldungen "unexpexted error"
4. Einrichten der Datenbank via mysql von t-online
5. neue Fehlermeldungen und festgestellt dass ich nicht wie bisher einfach die "localhost"-Installation uploaden kann
6. vollständiges löschen der upgeloadeten 4images-version
7. entpacken von 1.7.4. und uploaden des unbenutzten scripts
8. Erhalt der multiplen Fehlermeldungen "unexpected error, ...."

Danach dann die weiteren Schritte wie oben beschrieben.

Ich schlage vor, dass ich hier das nächste Mal schreibe, ob ich diese Fehlermeldung auch erhalte wenn ich erneut 4images in eine andere t-online-domaine installiere, diese dann hier erneut eintrage und die Installation dann unfertig stehenlassen, sonst hat der Versuch einer Analyse hier doch einige Unsicherheiten.
