Hello,

I was wondering if I can install two 4Images systems in one account server, but in different directories. :) Is there a limit?

Please let me know.

Thanks!

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Finding Category ID
« on: October 26, 2002, 07:46:33 AM »
Hi,

I'd like to know how to find out what is the ID number for a category after I create it. I ask this in regards to this post:

http://www.4homepages.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1451

Trying to figure it out. I'd like to upload many photos at one time. :)

First you have to create a category, this category has an id (e.g. 1) and at the same time 4images create in the folder media a folder 1 (1 = category ID)

After that you must upload your pictures in the desired folder (e.g. media/data/1) via your ftp-client.

After that you check for new images and choose the category.

Thanks,

Kitty

I renamed the 4images directory. Now I can't login to my account.

Is the only way to fix it, renaming it back to 4Images?

Thanks in advance,

Kitty

Hi everyone,

I uploaded the 4Images directory as instructed. I wonder if it OK to rename /4Images/ to /photoalbum/ without messing up the code?

Or should I rename the folder BEFORE uploading it to the server?

What is the best method?

Thanks,

kitty

Hi everyone,

I've gotten "The page cannot be found" after following the instructions for installation.

I've also read this thread:
http://www.4homepages.de/forum/viewtopic.php?p=6741#6741

The first two steps in that solution say:
- Rename the file config.new.php to config.php
- Open it and fill out the data requested for the variables

Do I have to fill out the host, name, user and INPUT my password in this file? Is this safe?

I hope I'm following the right solution.

Thanks,

kitty

Hi everyone,

I'm following the instructions on installation.txt. I'm in the process of setting up the permissions. Someone told me that it isn't a good idea to give Write access to Others in general. So I wanted to ask here if giving permissions to others is a MUST or an option.

For example, if I didn't give Write access to others, people visiting the album wouldn't be able to post or upload pictures, is this correct? But I could write without any problems. Right?

Is there another reason why I *should* give Write access to others?

Thanks,

kitty
