I have a question about cookies and this mod.  I apologize if this has already been answered, but since the new forum was created at 4homepages I find searching very difficult.

I integrated the mod.  4images 1.7.2 is installed at the root of the site, and phpbb 2.0.20 is installed in a folder called "forum".  Of course there was issues with the cookies between the two databases, and that is well documented.

I implemented the auto cookies mod located at http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=228741 to fix the problem.  I find that if you use their default settings, it will not work with 4images.  It wants to write the cookies to my /forum directory, and won't stay logged in at the root of my site.  So I changed the cookies to the root of the site, and everything seems to work perfectly.  With one exception:  I cannot login to the phpbb admin area.  It keeps redirecting to the root of the site.

What works:
1) Cookie stays intact for logged in users between 4image and phpbb
2) Once logged in via phpbb I can go to the 4images administration area just fine

What doesn't work:
1) Once logged in the phpbb administration area redirects to the root of the site

Anyone find a workaround on this issue?

TIA,
Ben

Mods & Plugins (Releases & Support) / Great Mod!
« on: May 23, 2003, 12:27:00 AM »
The only thing I would like to adjust is which user groups the member can add to their category.  The only two options I want to give them is the "Private" or "Registered Users" groups.

Also, how do my current users activate their category?  When I tried with a few of them, it did not create the group.

Thanks!

« on: April 06, 2003, 03:29:42 AM »
Someone awhile back posted their link to some custom images for 4images.  You know, image buttons for "upload", "download", "favorite",  etc. Can someone please repost that link?

Thanks!!!

Mods & Plugins (Releases & Support) / New Problem
« on: April 05, 2003, 10:34:09 PM »
I installed this just fine, and I was getting an error finding the font, but that appears to be fixed.  Now the only error I get when running the batch is:

Processing image *** from category ***, image ID *** >>
Warning: rename() failed (No such file or directory) in /home/virtual/site11/fst/var/www/html/members/admin/plugins/batch_annotate.php on line 105

Plus it won't work for any new images.  Any thoughts?  I am using ImageMagick.

Thanks!

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Yet Another Image Upload Problem
« on: March 14, 2003, 08:29:42 AM »
Quickly, before anyone blows me off to the FAQ, this is not your standard CHMOD or PHP Secure Mode problem . . .

My Host had to move my site to another server, and we've been having nothing but problems ever since.  A lot of it had to do with permissions, but there is one major issue left.

When anyone tries to upload an image is runs okay with no errors, and I've verified that the image actually does upload just fine.  But the thumbnail is the standard jpg or gif image from 4images, and the full image will not show.  Just a red "x".

I've asked my host the following three questions, and I am waiting for a reply.  Keep in mind we were working fine on the first server:
1) PHP upload is allowed
2) ImageMagick is installed, and verify path
3) GZip is installed

While I wait I wondered if anyone else had any insight.

-TIA

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Automatic zip extraction
« on: February 07, 2003, 09:35:06 PM »
I agree.  This could be used for one images (doubtful) or for multiple images.  Currently other gallery softwares allow for registered users to upload all their images from one zip file, and it will publish the lot.  This way they don't have to upload one at a time.

I understand part of the problem because the software allows for a title, key words, description, etc.  But I would think you could use one for the entire upload, and then the user could go back to modify their entries per image if they choose.

I'd have to imagine this would be easily accomplished from someone who understands php well, which I don't . . . not at that level.  I have talked to programmers who have implemented this type of solution, and they seemed to think it was pretty straight forward.  There only grey area was on the software itself, and actually implementing the solution to work.

Has anyone created a Mod to allow for this kind of feature?  Additionally, is there anything in a near future release that would have this available?

Thanks again,
Ben

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Auto image resizing
« on: February 07, 2003, 02:14:42 AM »
I don't want any of the images users import to be any larger then 460px wide.  Right now I'm using the image resize tool in the admin area to resize all the images larger then that to 460px.  Is there a way to have the program do this for me when they upload into the database?

Thanks,
Ben

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Question about Private Categories
« on: February 07, 2003, 02:12:06 AM »
I know how to create a private category, and how you go to the individual user's profile to permit access.  But here is what I'm trying to accomplish:

I want a category that everyone can get to, but I don't want it to be "viewable" in the category list.  Viewable being the keyword here.  I still want them to access the area, and have access to it like the rest of the categories, but I just don't want it listed.

Any thoughts about this?

Thanks,
Ben

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Automatic zip extraction
« on: February 06, 2003, 05:37:02 AM »
I've seen a bunch of other gallery softwares that will automatically extract zip files with all the images in them into the database.  I know this is not a feature with this software, which is the best around.  My question is if anyone knows how to make this happen.  I would really love to have this feature, and I simply can't wait until 4homepages adds it to a later feature.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,
Ben

Is there a way to upload a .zip file, and have it automatically unzip and spread the contents into the gallery?
