Title: Upload problem

anytime i try to upload images i get this message:

Warning: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 533 is not allowed to access ./../data/media/3 owned by uid 48 in /home/root/user/fst/var/www/html/galleryname/admin/checkimages.php on line 191

I tried uploading my images through ftp but anytime i went to 'check images' i got the same message. What am I doing wrong and can anyone help me?

Ask your hosting service provider to set PHP in regular mode! If they can't switch for somebody who will.
