Post by: Vivek on January 07, 2009, 05:05:24 PM

Dear friends,

I am new to 4images , trying to install 4images first time , but seems something wrong in my attempt, if any one can help me to sort it out.

Quote
DB Error: Bad SQL Query: SELECT setting_name, setting_value FROM 4images_settings
Table '*****_images.4images_settings' doesn't exist
ERROR: Could not load configuration settings!

I am trying to install 1.7.6 latest available for download.

whats wrong ??

Regards,
Vivek

welcome Vivek to 4images forum,

... as the message said, your '4images_settings' table doesn't exist ... I don't know why ...
... so, if it is a fresh installation ... delete all files and db tables ... and try a new installation ...
... I think, it is the fastest way for a 100% working 4images installation ...

... your setting table name is not ... 'C********s.4images_settings' ... !
... I don't know why you use such a name ...
... but check your db and table names via phpMyAdmin ...
... and your config.php for $table_prefix = "4images_"; ...

During 4images installation, did 4images say it installed database successfully?

Did you create a new database with the name of "C242092_images" ? (this is done via your host's ACP)

I don't have much knowledge of phpMyAdmin , but when i check through phpMyAdmin , i found "No tables found in database." in Structure tab.

@mawenzi , please remove user name starting with "C****" from your previous post and V@no post for my security :)

In config.new.php file , i edited following link and renamed it to config.php

$db_servertype = "mysql";
$db_host = "myhost";
$db_name = "Database Name";
$db_user = "Database User";
$db_password = "PASSWORD";

$table_prefix = "4images_";

define("4IMAGES_ACTIVE", 1);

there we go, found the problem. config.php means nothing if database is not installed.
delete config.php from the server and start installation process. once 4images finished installing database it will try create config.php, if it fails saving the file, it will offer you download it, no file editing required.
more info about installation process you can find in docs/installation.txt
