Title: Show different images for different categories

Is there any way for show a different image in each category ? ( categories.html ), for example a picture instead the text description that you always see over the thumbnails. I have different images that are representative from each category. The problem its that I don´t know how to call to this specific image depending of the category. Sorry, my english its very bad and I dont know if you understand me...
