any planes for vBulletin integration with 4images ?
« on: June 23, 2002, 05:03:34 PM »
Hi..

as i can see, the integration is highly requested by a very wide range of users...

the main reason is the ultimatly spreading of VB...
also if you see the "PhotoPost" is rocking all over the net just becouse it has this integration to VB...

4images has a very strong feature than "PhotoPost"...it's : PHP enabled..

yet "PhotoPost" doesn't support PHP...only PERL...

thier is an open subject for this progect:
http://www.4homepages.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=596

but it's much much better to see the integration form the genuis guy who created this whole legend :)

so my question is : is their any planes for an official integration with VB ?

thanx alot.

Yeah it would be nice, 4images devs would have to recode 4images from scrach to actually make it act like photopost...

So that would take alot of work, about 1 to 3 months... hehe well 4 me anyways...

photpost example: http://computingtalk.com - scroll to bottom... I wrote that little addon so it lists 12 images on index.php with vb code, move mouse over will display all kind of info about the image just like on deviantart.com...
NO IMAGINATION... NO LIFE... NO FUTURE...

I posted it a lot of times. At the moment there are no plans to integrate it with vBulletin. I'm thinking for the next version about any possibilities to integrate 4images easier with other community software such like phpBB or vBulletin...

Hi Jan,

I know I am crossing the line of getting you to program for me, but I personally prefer YABB (www.yabb.info). It's great, easy, PHP and free...

So if you can help with a fix to avoid double logins for users I would be grateful. If not, thanks anyway

In my opinion it is hard to integrate with an external package. Consider the difficulty when upgrading on of the packages, the number of different bb's which ppl like. Most of the time it will end up in someone writing some script to integrate a bb for each version. Integrating means customizing a package that you have not developed...and that is not easy.

But I understand it would be very nice to have these 'joined' logins and registrations. So, I invite some developers to join hands and make some great scripts to integrate bb's. I would join the team
