Assistance with update to 1.7.11 and FTP issues

Hello,

I seek assistance with two issues:

1. Need help updating to version 1.7.11.

We have installed version 1.7.10 by using Fantastico on our server cpanel. I do not know how to update it to 1.7.11

2. Uploading via FTP: IPTC and EXIM data not showing.

When we upload files via FTP into categories that were made through the admin panel, the IPTC and EXIM data does not appear. I would like this data to show up for users.
