Auto-Thumbnailer and safe mode is OFF
« on: June 18, 2006, 11:04:15 AM »
I am not able to create any thumbnail. First of all when i try using "Auto-image-resizer". It says GD library error. Check module settings
I installed the MODS thumbnailer.php, rebuild_thumbnails, files_check and check images. Of these Auto-Thumbnailer doesnt work. When i searched for missing thumbnails from File_check it shows me files whose thumbnail is missing. But when when i search from Auto-Thumbnailer it shows, "No Entries found". Also the MOD check images says, "No new images found". SAFE_MODE is OFF. I checked.
I uploaded files from the ADMIN CP of 4images.I tried to Use "Auto-Image-Resizer" which comes pre-installed wid 4images. It gives the error, "GD library error. Check module settings".

Plz tell me any solution.
Regards,
Akshay

Is GD installed on your server? what version? look in phpinfo()

Hi. I'm a new user and I need some help with a quick question.

I uploaded my first image. But its thumbnail is some strange pic of someone's eye... So ah ah I thought and clicked on 'Auto-Thumbnailer'.
When I click on the 'Auto-Thumbnailer' in my Control Panel, I get the message :
'Select module to create thumbnail.
Check module settings.' ... and nothing else.

GD is enabled on my server:
Quote
gd
GD Support    enabled
GD Version    bundled (2.0.28 compatible)
FreeType Support    enabled
FreeType Linkage    with freetype
GIF Read Support    enabled
GIF Create Support    enabled
JPG Support    enabled[/s]
PNG Support    enabled
WBMP Support    enabled
XBM Support    enabled

My gallery was auto-installed from the cpanel of my web-hosting service. (v. 1.7.2)

What does the message mean? How can I get thumbnails working?

The same message appears when I click on 'Auto-Image-Resizer'.

Thanks in advance for any help!

(gallery is at : http://www.language-global.com/picgallery)[/s]

Duh, I worked it out - thumbnails have to be activated in the admin control panel....

I am having the same issue.

I think it is a bigger issue.
My safe_mod is off.  The media directories say they are 777, but I can not add or insert to existing directories and I can't create thumbnails for new directories.  I did not make any changes.

I believe someone hacked the image gallery and did a server side command somehow to remove permissions on the directories.

My fix required the web site host to set all files and folders under the gallery/data directory to 777.

and now it works? Does the Autothumbnailer really create smaller images which are then displayed on die galery-page? Cause in the template-files there is only a {media-src} attribute, which is the original picture, not the thumbnail. So I think, it's absolut impossible to have a thumbnail displayed, isn't it?

I had a problem with creating thumbnail too.

You can create thumbnail with Picasa2, it's takes a few minutes.

If want batch image resizer - here:

;)
8 steps need when ask question -

- PHP version (ACP - > phpinfo())
- mySQL version (ACP - > phpinfo())
- 4images version
- Post screenshot / URL
- Post code in BB Code (no need full file for code) or post attach file
- It doesn't work. What is say - what is do for no work
- Install MOD ? If so - please say (troubleshooting)
- Read FAQ ? Install Bug fixes ?
