Transfer images to new domain?
« on: October 21, 2005, 11:32:37 PM »
I moved my website to new name servers. Now I lost all of my images. I saved a backup of EVERYTHING on my PC, but... how do I place them on the new server? Which files? Thanks!

hi there :)

I'd like to do the same thing but I'm afraid I'm a little sketchy on the instructions.
transfer the data as in, all the images? or all the files used in the entire gallery?
i don't understand "user-right set program over ftp"

Thanks so much, I really appriciate the clarification!

yes, all the files.

by "user-right" ivan ment set files/folders permissions acording to docs/installation.txt instructions. you can do it with most of the FTP clients or through SSH (which probably you should not bother to know what it is, if you dont know yet ;) stick with FTP)

One reason I'm switching servers is because I haven't been able to upload to the gallery for months and I'm upset with my provider... Anyway, I think the files went in weird places since they upgraded the php. I'm worried if I copy everything in the gallery, I will bring the problem with me.
Also, do I install the forums on my new server before uploading the backup?

Yes I understand the "user-right" part now, thank you very much for explaining :)
