« on: April 02, 2009, 02:47:34 PM »
I want to show 400-600 pixel images on the details page, then allow users to download the original, much bigger files. I've had a search around and I can only see messy solutions and reworking of code everywhere...I just want something simple that will work please!

So instead, I've tried entering a different download URL for images, and uploading the original images into a folder in FTP to point to it. However, when I click the download button and download the image, the image downloads as 0 bytes and is unopenable.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or offer a different, simple workaround that actually works? I don't understand why this feature hasn't been properly released in 4images, as surely it's one of the most basic requirements people need.

Thanks!

Thanks, I did read your tutorial and thought it would be helpful. However, the mods that you link to have so many different suggestions of replacing certain bits of the code with other things that by the end of reading it I had no idea which alterations to make and whether they would even work after all that editing.
