How do I sort images by selection?

Is there a way to sort images by choice?  In other words, sort by selection kind of like re-ordering catergories when in ACP and not limited by specific characteristics like date?  Any mods out there? I have tried searches for sort images and re-order etc.

I saw that mod I believe.  I was speaking of a choice to re-order manually rather than sort automatically by date, size, name etc.  Lets say you have a family album and you are always finding pictures and adding them at random times but you want to insert them in a specific order of your choice into a category.  Giving you the abilitiy of having an existing category with 50 images for example and you find another at a later date but you want it to be in a positiion between the 35 and 36 image in the category because that is where it belongs chronologically.
