Random thumbs instead of random images?
« on: June 20, 2006, 06:33:30 PM »
So, related to my other post, i make a little test, and please correct me if I'am wrong:

I have both, random cat image and random image enabled. When a user accesses a folder, 4images is selecting (by random) a picture in it's original size, making it smaller, and finally put it out (as a random cat image/radom image

So ususally the pictures are 80-200kb in size (sometimes even more) - If I'am right untill there, there must be a way to change the code, to select just the thumbnails, so the page would be loading faster - YAH or NAH ?

4images does select a random image "number" and shows its "image_thumb_file" ;)
So there's no "making it smaller" at all... well at least for my 4images :D

But if you want a faster "random_image" search the forum - there's somewhere a tweak for that...
