Which Conversion tool for thumbnails is Best to Use & Why?
« on: December 19, 2006, 01:25:22 AM »
Hi all.  I'm wondering which Conversion tool for thumbnails is the Best.
ImageMagick, GD or NetPBM ?

It seems like most the scripts I've tried to install like ImageMagick or have ImageMagick as it's default.
Is there a difference between all of these or do they all do the same thing?

TIA.
1Newb.

Man,.. This must be a copy and paste operation for you because if you typed that out,... You could have also simply put your opinion instead of the useless bandwidth taking up post you posted or your just simply lazy as i'm sure is explained several times if you look right here: http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?action=search;advanced .

No wonder why this is still beta because if this was an actual release i think you'd end up going nuts if you tried to help someone with less than 5000 posts and doesnt write script.

Anyway way,.. I'm outta here,... keep your bugged script.  I can use the 1meg space anyway. Delete my account if you wish.

1Newb I can see why he just posted a link to the search. Apparently this question is asked alot. As you can assume by this thread: http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=15572.0

However to answer your question I personally like GD, but have not used the other two yet (to this time).
I have read that NetPBM does offer better image quality. Now that GD is in version 2.?? I really don't know which is better but that GD is usually pre-installed on most servers before the other 2.

If you are asking about which is easier to install I would have no clue on how to answer that, but you need to have at least SSH or Telnet access to install at least one of them.
