[MOD] Check new images in ALL categories v2.11 (updated 22-04-2006)

Das Temp Verzeichnis unter data ist schon ok. Hätte ja sein können, das es ausversehen gelöscht wurde
Bei einem Update musst du aufpassen, nicht das nachher alle bisher eingebauten MOD's weg sind. Du findest die Änderungen hier:

Hallo,
ich habe seit einigen Monaten eine Galerie mit 4images 1.7.6 in Betrieb:
ost-friesland-bild.de (am Design muß ich sicher noch arbeiten - aber die Zeit fehlt einfach)
Sie läuft soweit ganz gut. Bilder werden per FTP hochgeladen und mit checkimages.php hinzugefügt. Thumbnails werden automatisch erstellt. Alles prima soweit.

Für einen Bekannten habe ich nun auch eine Galerie mit 4images 1.7.7 eingerichtet und auch checkimages 2.11 wieder installiert.
Leider funktioniert es nun nicht.
Neue Bilder werden nach dem Klick auf "Neue Bilder chrecken" zwar aufgelistet.
Wenn ich dann aber auf "Hinzufügen" klicke, erscheint eine leere Seite mit der Überschrift "neue Bilder checken Log", mehr nicht. Die Bilder werden nicht in die Galerie eingefügt.
Weiß jemand, wo der Fehler liegt?

Is your friend's gallery on different server/host? if so I'd suspect there is some kind of limitation on POST data.
Try limit number of images per page (1-5 images per page) and see if that works. If that works, then you should contact host administrator and get some information abou limitations they set on the server.

thanks for the reply.
It is true, the gallery of my friend is on another server / host (www.1+ 1.de)
However checkimeges not work well with 1 picture.
I suspect that the picture was too big (990 KB). With a small image (300 KB) it is obvious.

Es ist richtig, die Galerie meines Bekannten befindet sich auf einem anderen Server/Host (www.1+1.de)
Allerdings funktioniert checkimeges auch mit 1 Bild nicht.
Ich vermute,dass das Bild zu groß war (990 KB). Mit einem kleinen Bild (300 KB)funktioniert es offensichtlich.

in that case it's probably memory limit., again ether ask host to increase it, or use imagemagick/netpbm instead of gd libriary for creating thumbnails, resizing images.

Hallo V@no,

also...erst einmal ein Lob, dein Mod ist supi, klappt auch super unter der Version 1.7.7.

Ich habe allerdings folgende Probleme:

Wenn ich ein Bild mit dem Namen : Blume - 001 , Blume - 002 , Blume - 003 usw. erstelle, die auf meinen Server in die entsprechende ID lade und dann im ACP auf  "neue Bilder checken" gehe und dieses mit deinem Mod mache, zeigt mir dein Mod noch alles an wie es soll, sprich....die Bilder haben noch den "richtigen" Namen bzw. Rheihenfolge.

Nachdem ich dann auf hinzufügen geklickt habe, heißen die Bilder dann auf einmal : Blume_-_001_-_001 , Blume_-_002_-_002, oder Blume_-_003_-_008

In der Galerie gibt es dann auch zwei Bilder, die den gleichen Namen haben Blume - 001 (Hochkannt ) und Blume - 001 (Querformat )  - es können aber auch zwei geiche Formate sein mit der gleichen Bezeichnung

Außerdem werden die Bilder nicht nach Zahlen sortiert : Die Rheihenfolge sieht z.B. so aus : Blume - 001 , Blume - 004, Blume - 003 , Blume - 008 , dann gibt es wieder stellen, da sind sie schön durchnummeriert.

Ich habe dein Mod wieder herausgenommen und durch die "Standart - Datei " ersetzt, denn damit gab es die Probleme nicht.

Wäre schön wenn Du helfen könntest   , da dein Mod mir sehr viel Zeit spart.

this mod replaces all "unsafe" characters in filenames with a "_" and it adds 001, 002 to the filenames only if files with the same name already exist in the folder.

It might help better understand the issue you are experiencing if you post detailed step-by-step on how to reproduce it. (including exact filenames)

First, I create a category name in 4images, so I get the following under 4images / data / media / (id - number)

In the folder with the ID-No. I then copy purely via ftp my pictures. My pictures always end as follows: - 001, - 002, - 003, - 004, etc.

Now I'm going to the ACP and also click "check new pictures"

Now your MOD changes the images in these names:  -_001_-_001 ,  _002-_002_-  or in -_003_-_008

How comes it that there are two pictures with the number - 004 ( to example ), and the images are not sorted by the number

what are the exact names of your images? not just ending...I can't reproduce it on my local server.
I tested it with 3 images:
image - 001.jpg
image - 002.jpg
image - 003.jpg

it saved them as:
image_-_001.jpg
image_-_002.jpg
image_-_003.jpg

And sorted by name just fine.

Then I added again these 3 images:
image - 001.jpg
image - 002.jpg
image - 003.jpg

and it saved them as:
image_-_001_2.jpg
image_-_002_2.jpg
image_-_003_2.jpg

After converting and saving, the Picture has the Name:

your images have no file extensions? (that's just wrong)

sorry, but this just doesn't make any sense...you show one name, then next line you show the same name with a comment...
show exactly how you see it and then add comments below if you wish or use BBcode to separate example from comments and vice versa.

So far I can't reproduce it and until I do, I won't be able to help...

I suddenly get error messages when checking for new images.

The gallery version is 1.7.7. with the checkimages mod.
After I updated to 177 and added the mod things worked, there were only some problems with adding new categories.
The current problem seems to have nothing to do with it though.

Error message:

Warning: opendir(./../data/media/1): failed to open dir: Permission denied in /home/<user>/public_html/<root>/admin/checkimages.php on line 800

This message appears for every category I have.

The line in question in checkimages.php is
800:

     if ($handle = opendir(MEDIA_PATH.$cat_path))

I tried:
uploading checkimages.php again
uploaded admin and inlcudes folder of  the original again, uploaded the mod files (including checkimages.php)

Same error. Could it be that the mod is not working with 1.7.7? Though why it used to work I don't know.
CMOD error? Not that I have changed anything ..

I do not want to have to delete everything and set it up again, I really get tired with it (and 4images galleries). *sigh*
Any ideas what to do, where to look?

As the error says, it's permissions issue. check CHMOD on all folders in data/media

hm, ich hatte nach der installation auch diese fehlermeldung.
nach deinem Tip mit den Verzeichnissen hab ich festgestellt, das alle Hauptcategorie Ordner (wo die untergallerien drin sind) verschwunden waren, trotzdem funzte die Galerie. hab also neue leere Ordner mit nummer 1 bis 6 erstellt, und voila, "message de error" is weg

Hallo Zusammen,

ich benutze den MOD. Die checkimages kopiert alle "großen" Bilder in den Ordner big. Von dort werden die Bilder dann als Download angeboten. Alles Klasse!
Wenn ich nun ein Bild lösche, wird das Thumbnail und das Anzeigebild sauber gelöscht. Das große Bild im Big Ordner bleibt auf dem Server und müllt den zu. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit dieses Bild über die admin/images.php automatisch mit zu löschen?
