Batch Renaming Tool
« on: January 25, 2003, 03:56:50 PM »
Hello,

I created this tool in Visual Basic to solve the following problem. I had a long list of mp3's that I uploaded to the data/media folders to import into the 4images Gallery. Unfortunately the filenames contained characters such as "_" and "#" which made them difficult to read and sometimes brought up issues with the search function.
This tool steps through an entire directory and replaces all the characters specified (in the filenames) with a chosen character.
Just download and install the package (windows-based) and try it out.

Here are some more examples on how to use the tool:
1. Remove blanks from filenames
2. Replace invalid, useless characters with blanks or other characters
3. "Clean" up your filenames to make them more legible

Good Luck and thanks to the 4images admins

Hallo,

3. Dateinamen 'saeubern' um die Uebersichtlichkeit zu verbessern

Viel Glueck und Lob an die 4images admins!

an sql query, imported from a text file could do the trick here. You could go into a mysql tool (phpmyadmin) and just import the file for processing. then again, I wouldn't know where to start. Any mysql experts?

Does anyone have this code or zip file?  The link is broken, and I would really like this mod.
