Hello,

I hope I am able to explain what I am looking to try and do...

Currently on my site when you click on a category from the home page it takes you to the category page with the list of images (as the standard 4images software does). I also have a link to an outside site for more images, however I don't want them to leave my site, so I would like for the link to open within the same frame as the images.  So that when that external page is showing it is within my 4images page so you can still see all the categories, logo etc.

Does that make sense?
I did search the forum, but was unable to locate any forums that discussed doing this, even the FAQs.

How do I remove the expand state so that the side bars stay visible on all pages? Without he viewer being able to change it?

Hi,
I did a search and couldn't find anything on this.
I would like to remove the image counts from the category page and the home page next to the categories.

I am not talking about the total image count that is present on the home page.

Installation, Update & Configuration / New Directory - Transfer site using old database help needed.

 I recently installed a new clean version of 4images onto a different directory. I have a large 4images site running on the same server already.
What I would like to do is switch everything over to the new directory ie. using the same database as the original and transfer all images too.
I have searched this site for how to do this correctly without screwing everything up and I haven't found an answer.

Can anyone help me. What is the best way to do this?

Templates & Styles (Requests & Discussions) / Columns on both sides? Please help

I am using the wallpaper theme on 4images 1.74 and want to create a column on the right as well.
I have a column on the left that holds my categories,random image, registration,whos online etc.
I want to place one on the right for advertisements and rss news.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get this done?

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Need rss.gif captcha not working

I just updated from 1.72 to 1.74 I read that I needed to copy over the files from default for rss. So I did except I do not have an rss.gif in the images folder or anywhere else.
Where can I get this file?

Right now when trying to upload my users get the error to enter verification number but they cannot see one or where to enter it.

Please help this is very urgent.

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Description disappearing for some users uploads intermittently HELP PLEASE

We just started having a problem where when a user uploads a new photo with description sometimes the description comes through other times it is deleted. It is intermittent but 7 times out of 10 it is deleted. The keywords,date etc all are there but no description.
Administrators are able to upload and the descriptions work fine. I have deleted one user and recreated it thinking it may be corrupted but that didn't help.
I have searched the message boards for help but couldn't find anything like this.

What is happening?

I am getting the error below currently. As of yesterday evening. The host has even done a complete restore but that didn't help. I have not changed anything, it just started happening. I am still going back and forth with my host but they seem like they do not know what is wrong either. Anyone have any ideas.

Last night the error was premature end of script hearders on the main index.php now this.

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Side Panel dissapears in Mozilla

Ok the strangest thing is happening in Mozilla. When I load my site, I will see the side panel (categories,login,registration links) for about 5 seconds then it disappears. If I open in internet explorer everything works fine. It has been working great no problems. Anyone have any clue as to what it happening.
Oh there isnt an on or off button on the homepage, that is only on the secondary pages.

This is only happening in Mozilla and it is only the homepage, the rest of the site is fine.

I am using Mozilla 2.0.0.3

 I only want my visitors to be able to search in certain categories. Is there a mod for this, I have searched and searched the board without any help.
Basically only the categories I want to be searched can be searched.

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Auto thumbnailer no longer working

Everything has been working perfectly. Then today I try to upload a photo and no thumbnail is created. I then goto the auto thumbnailer to look for new thumbnails, however nothing is found. I am using GD bibliothek and I have also contacted my host.


I have searched the board to find someone with a problem like this but nothing matched. The rest of the site is working just fine.

Any idea what may be happening here ?

I searched on how to do this and found a thread titled [MOD] Dynamic Page Title for v1.7 & v1.7.1
I am running 1.7.2 not planning on upgrading since everything works great. However I want to have dynamic page titles. Will the instructions work for 1.7.2 ?

the photos on other sites. Right now this option is not available.

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Random images on other websites ? Help

 I am working on promoting my site so I want to be able to let others add a random imager to their website of my photos with the photo description under it and link to that photo.
It would show one photo at a time until page is refreshed.

Does anyone know how to do this ? I have looked all over the web but maybe I am searching for the wrong thing.

I am wanting to remove the ability for a user to link to a photo when uploading.
I want them to actually upload a photo and not input a url.

How do I do this ?
