Hi,

when searching the forum, I could not find any info about how to download the complete ZIP-files of older versions of 4images. Can anybody please tell me where I can find these files?
The download section seems to offer the most recent version of 4images only (at this time 1.7.11).
If the info is not hidden anywhere else in the forum and I was to stupid to find it, this might be a topic for the FAQ section of the forum.

Thanks in advance ...

Hi,

I'm using V@no's [MOD] Batch Copy/Move/Edit Images v3.7.3 http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=6759.msg29585#msg29585 to move images from one categorie to another. As long as my website was on my notebook (Windows XP, localhost) everything was ok. But after uploading the site to my providers host, I got error-messages on the first move:

Quote
Warning: copy(./../data/media/16/00615_2.jpg) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /www/htdocs/w007638b/4images/admin/images.php on line 236

Warning: copy(./../data/thumbnails/16/00615.jpg) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /www/htdocs/w007638b/4images/admin/images.php on line 330

The following errors occurred:
    * Copy error. Please check the directory permissions.
00615 (in category ID:_8)

Something is clearly wrong with my directory and/or file permissions on the server despite the fact I set them to the values given in the 4images installation description. You can see the actual permissions in the attached pictures below. I'm not familiar with access permissions on Linux-Systems. So can anybody please tell me to which permission-settings I will have to change.

Thanks in advance

8) If your question was answered / problem solved - "mark" it as "solved"
Not many people noticed this, but we have a feature on this forum - "Topic solved".
If your question was answered or problem was solved, please click on icon next to the reply that aswered your question. Doing this, will put as the topic icon, that should help other people more easy find a topic with a answer/solution for their question/problem.

Also, if you decided that the reply was mistakenly marked as "solved" you can always remove the mark by clicking on icon.
In fact, you can use that icon to mark a specific reply as "wrong" Wink

Please note, that icons for "Topic solved" feature only available to original author of the topic only.

I would like to mark a topic in this forum as solved, but stupid me  :? can't find the "green hook" icon anywhere although being the original author of the topic. Testing shows follwing results:

  • In Firefox 1.5.0.2 (userprofile-language GERMAN): no icons shown at all (my default setting)
  • In Firefox 1.5.0.2 (userprofile-language ENGLISH): correct icons shown
  • In IE 6.0 (userprofile-language GERMAN): 2 "broken image"-icons shown
  • In IE 6.0 (userprofile-language ENGLISH): correct icons shown
  • In Netscape 7.01 (userprofile-language GERMAN): no icons shown at all
  • In Netscape 7.01 (userprofile-language ENGLISH): correct icons shown

Maybe its usefull or even necessary to change this behaviour.

Hi folks,

I'm using 4images 1.7.2 to locally (127.0.0.1 - Windows XP) prepare a custom-tailored gallery before putting it online. I recently installed the following MODs:

[MOD] Language select - http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=4743.105
[MOD] Batch Copy/Move/Edit Images v3.7.2 - http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=6759.0
[MOD] Check new images in ALL categories v2.11 - http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=4754.0
[MOD] guestbook - http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=7409.150
[MOD] Anti-Spam v1.0 for Guestbook & Comments - http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=12268.0
[PLUGIN] Batch Import From ZIP Files - http://www.4homepages.de/forum/index.php?topic=4659.0

After that, via ACP I succesfully uploaded an image and tried to create a corresponding thumbnail using auto-thumbnailer. Doing that, I get the normal message

Create thumbnail for: 02105_032_kIWI (02105_032_kIWI.jpg) ....

but the code behind that seems to have hang-up (browser-activity-icon is rotating but nothing happens even when waiting a few minutes). Clicking on another ACP-function doesn't help; browser-activity-icon is still rotating but nothing happens. In order to get control again, I have to close and restart FIREFOX.
Additional checking shows, that the thumbnail is created in the correct directory but there is no entry in the related image-record in the db-field image_thumb_file in table 4images_images. Consequently, deleting the image via ACP from the gallery after restarting FIREFOX, leaves the thumbnail in place, because of the empty db-field the system doesn't know it's there.
So, because creating thumbnails worked fine before installing the MODs, something seems to have gone wrong there. I was very carefull doing this and all MODs worked as described after installation. So I can't figure out, where the problem is, so far.
Can anybody please help me with a hint or suggestions?

Thanks in advance ...

Hi there,

although being an IT-Professional, I am a complete newbie to HTML, PHP and all the other web-stuff.

I just managed to setup Apache 2.0.55, PHP5, MySQL Server 5.0, phpMyAdmin 2.8.0.2, 4images 1.7.2 and ImageMagick 6.2.6 on my PC under Windows XP as an Environment for local Development (localhost, 127.0.0.1).

Everything works fine so far. I used the buildin admin-ftp-function to upload a few pictures to different categories for testing. After checking for new pictures and using the Auto-Thumbnailer, everything showed up in the gallery.

And now the problem:
After that, I wanted to add more pictures and so I copied them directly to some category-directories 4images\data\media\## using Windows Explorer, checked for new pictures and created all thumbnails. Those new pictures and thumbnails showed up in the gallery as "broken image"-icons. Right-clicking to display those "broken images" in my bowser ended with error-message 403 (You don't have permission to access ...). But there is no problem accessing and working on those pictures with a Windows programm such as PAINT. I also checked the count and names in the media- and thumbnails-subdirectories and they matched. Last thing I tried was to modify one of those non-displaying pictures. That means, uploading it again (from its current posiition in the media-subdirectoy) and simultaneously deleting the existing thumbnail. After that I created a new thumbnail for that picture and now - I don't know why - both picture and thumbnail appeared correctly in the gallery.

I have to add, that after installing 4images, I didn't do the CHMODs because I could not persuade WS-FTP to connect to my localhost. Maybe, this is causing the problem. Also a friend of mine, running an identical configuration on a Linux-system has no problems with viewing pictures directly copied into category-directories.

Can anybody tell me why copying pictures to the directories instead of uploading them ends up with broken images and how to fix this problem.
I would like to know also how to make a ftp-client (WS-FTP or other) work with the Apache-Server on localhost.

Thank you all in advance
