Title: A large number of categories - slow work site

I have a website - Photogallery.

He has more than 8,000 categories. Because of this - loading pages can take up to 10 seconds or more.
During the experiment, while reducing the number of categories - speed increased.

The question how to solve the problem?
Reduce the number of categories - not an option.

besseren Server nehmen, habe 2 Kataloge auf einem Server mit zusammen 14000 Kategorien und "fast" 200000 Bildern.
Wenn viele User darauf zugreifen, wäre ich mit 10 sek. voll zufrieden.
Überlege auch einen anderen Server zu nehmen.

I understand that this slow work with a lot of records - is normal for this engine?

i think there is a server specific problem, but ask your provider.
