great mod, been using it for some time now

just wondered, is there any way that I can get it to compress the image even if it is less than the maximum width?  Most images that are uploaded are at least 800x600, so I have my maximum width set to 799 pixels.  However, images that are say 600x480 are uploaded without being recompressed because they are not over 799 pixels wide.

Thanks for any help.

Discussion & Troubleshooting / guest comments post in Mozilla
« on: September 16, 2005, 07:10:28 PM »
hi,

The 1st time I post a comment in Mozilla Firefox 1.06 it appears fine.  Subsequent posts give me this message 'You cannot repost so soon, please try again after a short while.'  I have tried waiting and restarting the browser. The only way to post another comment is to clear the cookies, which suggests its something to do with session cookies.
I have changed my 4images install so there is only guest access (no option to register).  The session timeout is set to the default of 15 minutes. Should I change this?

Also I have another user (also using Moz) that gets the 'Fatal error: session_start(): Failed to initialize storage module...' error.
None of these problems occur in IE.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi Everyone,

I'm having a small problem with this MOD.
I have used rroc's help to show 10 images, 10 file names and 10 descriptions.  Everything is fine if descriptions are added to each image, but if you leave some descriptions blank, the last entered description appears for all the descriptions that were left blank.  I have been getting around this by putting a space in the text box before uploading the images.

Anyone know where I've gone wrong?

Cheers.

Mods & Plugins (Requests & Discussions) / user compress jpg on upload
« on: July 16, 2005, 07:56:41 PM »
Hi everyone,

some of my users are at novice level and are uploading jpg's that are too large in dimensions and file size.
I am going to install the V@ano's auto image resize mod to solve the dimension problem.  However, I would like it to also recompress the images to a higher jpeg compression ratio (image quality), similar to V@ano's admin auto resize mod.
Is there anything out there that would do the job?

Thanks.

Can anyone help me on this - I'm really struggling.
Thanks.

Did you use member.txt or member.zip?  member.txt contains rroc's exif statements for thumbnails etc.
Download member.zip and change the extension to .php.

I will upload my member.php later today. Good luck!

Anyone managed to get the option for description and names for each individual image?

Hey Backbeatclub and abifotos,

I had the upload problem (only uploading 1st and returning an error on subsiquent images).
I managed to cure it by doing this:

1. Download member.txt from rroc's last post
2. Makes sure you follow II 2.1 and 2.2
3. Save as member.php

This worked fine for me in 4images 1.7.1.

Nice MOD ;-) Why is it not possible to type in a description for each image to be uploaded ?

Cheers, Martin

Hi maziggy!
Did you manage to get the descriptions working for each image?  I'm struggling on this one. Cheers.
