That's what I thought. I hope there is a solution in the works for the next release. This would be in my view a great addition to the software.

Thanks

Is it possible reference the same image in multiple categories?  :? or does the same image needs to have multiple instances in order to be listed in multiple categories?

Thanks

Discussion & Troubleshooting / commercial
« on: November 09, 2002, 07:39:35 PM »
I believe the commercial licence is $99 which is way worth it !

You would have to plug in some kind of payment stuff. I would personally do it via paypal. You can validate membership become they become active, so you can make people pay you first then you can activate them ! that's easy to do. look on http://www.hotscripts.com/php for a payment script that you would plugin to 4images

Good Luck

I would like to be able to replace the alt tags of every thumbnails to say "Please register to see the larger version"  instead of the image name when the user is not allowed to see the image!

Does anybody know where sould I start?

I would try root as the username, which is what gets installed while performing standard automated install of MySQL.

Templates & Styles (Requests & Discussions) / Windows Media Template?
« on: November 07, 2002, 05:35:08 AM »
Try this:

1)Add the .wmv file extensions in the admin panel under the section allowed media type.

2)create a new media template under >templates>default>media>
and call it wmv.html

3)In that template put your embed tag as such:

<embed id="VideoVIDEO" name="VideoVIDEO" pluginspage="http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/en/Download/default.asp" src="{media_src}" width="360" height="270" type="application/x-mplayer2" EnableFullScreenControls="1" AUTOREWIND="0" SHOWSTATUSBAR="1" AnimationatStart="false" SHOWDISPLAY="0" AUTOSIZE="0" ENABLECONTEXTMENU="1" SHOWCONTROLS="0" PLAYCOUNT="0"> <br />

4)upload the media tou your server or call it from a fully qualified URL, both methods are allowed within the admin panel.

5) Test

Keep in mind that the directory path I gave you in step 2 is only if you are using the regular set of templates! if you use something else please adjust that path

Also I have NOT tried this myself, but by looking at how it is done for the other media types (movies in particular) it makes sense to do it like that.

Please back up!!

Discussion & Troubleshooting / Rating problem

I beleive 4images checks for session state to do security and that sort of thing. When you close your browser and open a new one, you start another session which would explain why. Don't quote me on that but I think that makes sense. Most poll/voting systems use either/or/both IP and Cookie combination to make sure you can't vote twice!

By the way seanne1, nice site! do you use a portal script to maintain? just curious?

Thanks

Ask your hosting service provider to set PHP in regular mode! If they can't switch for somebody who will.

Man,

It worked right ou of the box!!!! no plug and pray   . Fantastic mod and for sure it has to make its way in the new release!

I just see a little bug! well just an oversee I think. If you display other media types on your gallery the thumbnails for these are stored somewhere else (different directory)! and in that case when the value pairs get built  the URL for the media type is wrong resulting in a broken link/image. Not a huge deal, I need to look in your mod to find out where it is. It might be as easy as copying the other media type gif thumbs into each categories directories? dunno yet!   -- Remember to always BACKUP! before you try a mod!!

Thanks a lot!

Yeah that's next level stuff! though it would be an excellent addition to the software! I think that like me, many other people who want their gallery to be fully bilingual would find this feature very very usefull.

I am sure there is a hack way of doing it, like I could register the coresponding lang_* variables and parse them when calling categories.html but that means entering every one of them in three different places, and possibly more! (all language packs, somepage.php and someTemplatePage.html). I guess that could work.

Tying the thing to the admin and the db is obviously the way to go. I guess it's time to hit the PHP books !! 8O

never mind I found it!

In top.php everywhere it says *.htmlspecialchars* it should really be *.un_htmlspecialchars* as that function decodes the html character string that had been previously encoded for database purposes.

Thanks anyway,

Sam

I have some html tags in the category name which is rendered fine everywhere except in the top.php page! I beleive the string is not passed through a function before it gets printed and therefore the html gets printed as is!

Does anyone have a fix for that one?

Thanks
Sam
