Request: Sort categories from Left->Right Instead of Top->Bottom

The default way for categories to be listed is from top to bottom(To make clear what I'm talking about, like on the home page), and I was wondering if someone could make them go left to right.

I have many categories - all thumbnailed. So I need it because I want to show new categories 'at the top' (i.e. going across the page) - where visitors can immediately see them.

yes i to would be intrested in a way to display the categories in a horizontal way instead of verticle
i hate scrolling down to look for an item in  the alphabetical order

then have to scroll back up to see the next column

any help would be aprreciated

searched the forum but dont see any mods of this

there has to be somebody who knows how to do this,
 I would think it would be a common mod
 as the majority of the world reads left to right and not top to bottom.

anybody have any comments on this mod?
seems strange that nobody else would want this

it would br very useful , x-specially if you are using the thumbnail category mod
as when you have, say 50 categories that are all thumbnail displayed you have to search in verticle colums
constantly scrolling up and down to find the category in which you want to view.

considering most of the free would reads top down left to right in rows , not in columns
i think this mod would be very useful.

unfortunately my brain is too small to figure out how to do it!

I find it super aggravating to search in this manner.

any comments on this would be very helpful
